About the Event
Drop down to the Bushfire Centre of Excellence in Nambeelup any time between 10am and 3pm on Sunday 23 October 2022. Meet your local DFES staff and local Bushfire Brigade and have fun learning how to prepare your home and family for the upcoming bush fire season.
There will be plenty of exciting activities lined up: test yourself on what you would pack in an emergency, watch your kids race through an obstacle course fit for a firefighter, discover how you can prepare your home for the fire season, explore our fire trucks, learn about the new fire danger ratings. There really is something for everyone!
We’ve got lunch sorted! A sausage sizzle will take place on the day with proceeds going to the local Volunteer Bushfire Brigade. If this doesn’t quite hit the spot, a coffee truck and ice cream van will also be on site.
This is a great opportunity for the whole family to come down and see our fire trucks and equipment, meet some of our firefighters and get great bushfire information for the upcoming bushfire season.
Chris Ferreira will be giving talks from 10am - 1.30pm and Matt Wallwork from Ecotecture will speak at 2.30pm.
