About the Event

The workshop is presented by cat behaviourist Heather Crawford and sustainability expert Chris Ferreira in an immersive workshop that teaches participants how to make a Catio whilst also learning about how these enclosures enhance their cats life whilst protecting wildlife.

Catio designs often include shelves, ramps, tunnels, and perches for cats to climb and rest on, as well as various toys and scratching posts to keep them entertained. The enclosures are typically made of sturdy materials such as wire mesh or netting, ensuring that cats cannot escape while still providing visibility and ventilation.

Cats can greatly benefit from spending time in a catio. It can help reduce their boredom, provide mental stimulation, and contribute to their overall well-being. Additionally, a catio can offer peace of mind to cat owners, knowing that their furry companions are safe from potential outdoor hazards.

If you're interested in building a catio, it's important to consider factors such as your

  • Available space
  • Cat's preferences
  • Cats behaviour
  • Local regulations or permits that may be required.

Make sure you come to the workshop!
