About the Event
Do you have a worn out drain or creekline, or a degraded paddock that’s flooded in winter and dry in summer? Interested in how to transform this space for all round production and ecological vitality or perhaps just curious to see how you can transform a linear drain into a beautiful meandering system?
Join well known landcare expert, Chris Ferreira from the Forever Project and Greening Australia for an afternoon in the field discussing and observing the work that has recently been completed as a part of the Bastow Farm waterway project. Learn the secrets of how this project will transform the waterway, bolster productivity and improve the health of the farm creating climate resilience and drought proofing.
Established as an ecological approach to managing water on the farm, this project focused on redesigning a shallow drainage channel to hold water up in the landscape and filter it before reaching the Harvey River.
Learn about the design approach taken and hear firsthand from Cathy Bastow about problems she was experiencing, and early day outcomes observed.
